VALOUR
Privacy Policy
Effective: June 2026 · Last updated: June 2026
VALOUR ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Mitchum Procter (sole trader), Sydney, Australia, at valour-store.com. This policy explains how we handle your personal information.
Note: As a small business under the A$3m turnover threshold, VALOUR is currently outside the strict coverage of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We nonetheless choose to follow the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) as best practice, and we apply equivalent care for customers in the EU/UK.
What we collect
- Contact & order details: name, email, phone, shipping and billing address, order history.
- Payment information: processed securely by our payment providers (e.g. Shopify Payments / PayPal). We do not see or store your full card number.
- Account details: if you create an account, your login and saved preferences.
- Marketing: your email/SMS if you opt in to our list.
- Technical & usage data: IP address, device/browser, and site activity via cookies and analytics (see our Cookie Notice).
How we use it
- To process, fulfil and deliver your orders and handle returns.
- To respond to enquiries and provide customer support.
- To send order updates (transactional) and, if you opted in, marketing.
- To detect fraud, secure the site, and meet our legal/tax record-keeping obligations.
- To improve our products and store.
We rely on your consent (marketing), the performance of our contract with you (orders), and our legitimate interests (security, improving the store) — and, for tax, legal obligation.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the store, under confidentiality:
- Shopify — our e-commerce platform and hosting.
- Payment providers — to process payment.
- Shipping carriers — to deliver your order.
- Email/marketing tools — to send communications you opted into.
- Professional advisers / authorities — where required by law.
We do not sell your personal information.
Overseas disclosure
Some providers (e.g. Shopify) store data on servers outside Australia. By using the store you acknowledge this transfer. We take reasonable steps to ensure providers protect your information.
Marketing & opt-out
You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any marketing email, or by emailing us. We'll action it promptly.
Security & retention
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data and keep it only as long as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires (e.g. tax records for 5 years).
Your rights
You may request access to or correction of your personal information by emailing us. EU/UK customers also have rights to erasure, restriction, portability and objection under the GDPR; we will honour valid requests.
Children
Our products and store are intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
Complaints
Contact us first. Australian customers may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date will change. Material changes will be notified on the store.

Cookie Notice
Effective: June 2026
This note explains how valour-store.com uses cookies and similar technologies. It supports our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files stored on your device that help a website work and remember things about your visit. We also use similar technologies like pixels and local storage.
The cookies we use
- Strictly necessary — make the store work: cart, checkout, security. Can't be switched off. (Shopify session/cart cookies)
- Functional — remember your preferences, like region and recently viewed items.
- Analytics / performance — understand how the store is used so we can improve it (aggregated Shopify analytics).
- Marketing (only with your consent) — measure campaigns and show relevant ads.
Your choices
- Consent banner: where required (e.g. for EU/UK visitors), non-essential cookies load only after you accept. You can decline non-essential cookies.
- Manage anytime: you can change or withdraw consent via your browser settings.
- Browser controls: most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may break parts of the store (like checkout).
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There's no agreed standard for responding to it, so we currently treat your consent-banner choices as the controlling preference.
More information
For how we handle the personal information collected via these technologies — including analytics and any marketing tools — see our Privacy Policy. Questions: contact@valour-store.com.
